URGENT PUBLIC ADVISORY TO ALL ADC MEMBERS, ASPIRANTS, AND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY CANDIDATES: STAY AWAY FROM THE ILLEGAL MEETING CONVENED BY BILYAMINU SHINKAFI
From the Campaign Organisation of Mahdi Aliyu Gusau Our attention has been drawn to a purported meeting scheduled by one Bilyaminu Shinkafi, described as a "strategy campaign coordination meeting." The meeting is slated to hold on 6th September 2027 at 8:00 PM in Kaduna State, with 24 House of Assembly aspirants and National Assembly candidates reportedly invited.
WE WISH TO STRONGLY ADVISE ALL INVITED MEMBERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS ILLEGAL GATHERING.
REASONS WHY THIS MEETING IS NULL AND VOID:
1. Bilyaminu Shinkafi Is Not the Legitimate ADC Governorship Candidate
The ADC governorship primary election was conducted fairly and transparently, producing Mahdi Aliyu Gusau as the validly elected candidate. Bilyaminu Shinkafi did not participate in that primary. His claim to candidacy is a fabrication designed to mislead the public and cause confusion within the party.
2. Bilyaminu Shinkafi Is a Dual Member of Two Different Political Parties
It is a well-established fact that Bilyaminu Shinkafi maintains membership in two different political parties simultaneously. This is a clear violation of the Nigerian Constitution and the Electoral Act. No individual can lawfully claim membership in two parties at the same time. This double membership renders his candidacy null and void, and any meeting convened by him is an affront to the rule of law.
3. The Matter Is Already Before a Court of Competent Jurisdiction
We have already filed a case in court to challenge the illegality surrounding Bilyaminu Shinkafi's claims. We have a strong case and are confident that the court will retrieve our stolen mandate and restore the rights of the legitimate candidate, Mahdi Aliyu Gusau. The court is the final arbiter of all electoral disputes. No one should take the law into their own hands or participate in any meeting that seeks to undermine the authority of the court.
4. The Invitees Know the Truth
It is no secret that even those invited to this meeting are fully aware that Bilyaminu Shinkafi did not win the ADC primary election. They know that Mahdi Aliyu Gusau is the rightful candidate. We appeal to the conscience of all invited members to refrain from honoring this invitation. Do not allow yourselves to be used as tools to legitimize an illegal gathering.
5. His So-Called Candidacy Is Temporal and Void
Bilyaminu Shinkafi's claim to candidacy is baseless and unsustainable. It is founded on falsehood and deception. Any meeting convened by him is not only illegal but also a waste of time and resources. Do not be deceived by empty promises or temporary alliances.
6. The Law Will Prevail
We have said it before, and we will say it again: the law is on our side. The court will soon pronounce judgment, and the stolen mandate will be returned to its rightful owner. Let everyone wait for the court's decision and refrain from any action that could be construed as contempt or interference with the judicial process.
OUR FINAL ADVICE
We strongly advise all invited members and the general public to stay away from this illegal meeting. Do not honor any invitation from Bilyaminu Shinkafi or his parallel group. Anyone who attends this meeting does so at their own risk and may be complicit in actions that undermine the party and the rule of law.
Even the invitees themselves know that Bilyaminu Shinkafi is not the one who won the primary election. Why then would you allow yourselves to accept the invitation of parallel leaders? His candidacy is temporal and will not stand. Distance yourselves from that meeting and avoid being dragged into illegality.
We remain fully committed to the leadership of our great party, the ADC, and we trust in their wisdom and guidance as we navigate this challenge together.
Stay Law-Abiding. Stay Away from Illegal Gatherings. Wait for the Court's Judgment.
Together, we shall retrieve our mandate.
